Sagie was rescued as a stray by Mitchell’s Plain Animal Welfare and came in as a scared wreck. It took her a long time to accept other dogs but the volunteers in Cape Town did an amazing job in rehabilitating her. Sagie formed a strong bond with Nova before she flew to JHB with Raska.

Everyone should know Nova’s story by now – he was rescued by R.A.D on an outreach in Grabouw as a skinny, malnourished, mangy and hairless husky. His transformation is nothing less than spectacular, all thanks to Karen Goldie and her generous sponsorship of Vondi’s Holistic Pet Nutritionmeals to fatten him up. Nova flew up to JHB a few weeks ago to join his buddy Sagie in a run.

Sagie’s dreams came true when a family visited the Haven and fell hopelessly in love. At that point Nova was still in Cape Town. Today the family came to collect Sagie and after completing the paperwork drove off with her. But they got 50 metres and turned around, in tears because they just couldn’t leave Sagie’s BBF behind.

So a double adoption for two dogs who had formed a strong inseparable bond. Lots of tears of happiness because of this amazing day and most beautiful double adoption.

Thank you to Tamaryn and her hubby for being absolute gems and seeing that the bond that Sagie and Nova share could not be broken💖💗💖💗
