When Cora Bailey from CLAW (Community Led Animal Welfare) phones and asks for help we always say yes as CLAW do so much for the impoverished community and their animals. These 2 emaciated dogs were found on a property in Roodepoort this week and we agreed to take them in. Our Saturday volunteers named the male Raven (he is all black in colour) and the female Shenzi.

One volunteer, Meredith, carried Shenzi in and had her on her lap for a while. When we say she is a bag of bones- she really is a bag of bones. You can see every pelvic bone clearly.

This morning Joanne went to check on them and low and behold the female had produced a puppy! We cannot believe that there was another life inside this poor dog 💔

Both dogs were considered too thin to cope with an anesthetic so we agreed to wait a few weeks to sterilize them.

So heartbreaking that this poor girl had one tiny puppy in this condition. We immediately called for help and are grateful to Lauren from PETS JHB – Pet Empowerment in Townships and foster mom Bugsy who took pup into their care. Puppy is a male and so obviously was called Paddy.
Thank you to Martina Kangley for arranging everything this morning. ♡♡
