Please support Ian in his campaign

It’s that time of year again, time for Nutty November, yes I am doing it again but this time with a very important purpose.

Below is a picture of Bentley, Bentley came to Husky Rescue a short while ago after being rescued in a very poor state. He has recovered well and is learning to trust again but Bentley has a problem and he needs our help.

Bentley has cataracts and if we don’t get them fixed soon he will go blind.   The operation is going to cost us R26000 which is a lot of money but we did it before for Apollo and Zeus so we know we can do it again. Bentley has been through so much that we have to give him that chance to lead a new life and to be able to see that life.
So here is the deal, I am going to:
Run the 42km Soweto Marathon on 4 November,
Ride the 55km Telkom 947 MTB race on 11 November,
Ride the 95km road race on 18 November,
Finishing with the grueling 202km Coronation Double Century on 24 November.
I call it Nutty November, people say I am nuts but I will be doing it with a renewed purpose this year, to give Bentley his eyesight back. Last year we raised over R10000 for Nutty November so can we double it this year?
Please make donations directly to the Husky Rescue Account and use the reference Nutty, please send proof of payment to ian@huskyrescue.org.za so I can acknowledge all donations.

Update of the Day!

A lot of the times our hearts get heavy, when there are some of our dogs who for some reason, despite all our efforts just can’t find a home. They are overlooked and sit and wait and watch while dogs come and go.

But then one unexpected day a miracle happens.  On Sunday Danie Krige walked into our Cape Town kennels looking for a friend. He had a look at all the the dogs available, greeting each of them eagerly…. and there it was….A lingering look at Bakari and the connection was made. His time had finally come ❤️ Our longest Cape Town resident has finally found his forever home.

We are overjoyed and eternally grateful.  Thank you Danie for giving Bakari a chance. We don’t know how to thank you. You have saved Bakari’s life when we were starting to lose hope.  We hope you 2 will have wonderful days spent taking walks, naps and enjoying some music and ice cream together. We wish you an amazing happy ever after!  Be happy Bakari Bear xx We love you!
