Thank you for taking the time to fill out our application and for considering a rescued animal. The application contains many questions concerning various facets of husky ownership. This is so that we can match potential adopters with animals that they will be compatible with, and to avoid the undue stress (for you and the animal) associated with an inappropriate placement. Our first and foremost concern is what is in the best interest of the animal(s).

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT COMPLETING THIS APPLICATION DOES NOT NECESSARILY GUARANTEE ADOPTION ON YOUR PART.

In order to ensure the health, happiness, and well being of the animal, we will conduct home checks and any other checks we deem necessary prior to adoption. By adopting from Husky Rescue South Africa (HRSA), you are indicating your agreement to a lifetime commitment of love and proper care (nutrition, health, safe/humane containment, companionship, etc.) for the animal.

We do not consider any animal as “disposable,” and will be happy to work with you at any time to ensure a smooth transition and a continued lifetime relationship with your animal. Please be aware that all animals will go through a transition period (days, weeks, and even months) and that is especially true with rescue animals, this can be a very stressful time. Frustration will only delay any progress. Rescue animals may take a long time and lots of love and patience to form new bonds and rebuild their trust in humans. Please be aware that your animal may need lots of extra time, love, and patience from you and others in your household. By adopting from HRSA you are indicating your agreement and willingness to provide this.

Most animals end up in rescue through no fault of their own; most cases can be attributed to owner neglect and/or lack of awareness/education. We are willing to work with first-time owners, if committed, or will provide education regarding husky ownership at any time if needed.

We make every effort to match potential adopters with compatible animals, and to avoid the undue stress of an inappropriate placement. The adoption fees are R1 200 for an Adult Dog and R1 500 for a puppy, this covers the costs of vaccinations, de-worming, micro-chip and sterilisation. Donations are always appreciated!

Please submit our adoption application to info@huskyrescue.org.za. If you have any questions regarding your application please email  Thank you!
